Leis an gearrscannán seo, Macalla Colmcille, faigheann muid dearcadh úr faoin naomh cáiliúil, ag amharc air mar ealaíontóir, agus duine fior-fhísiúil. D'úsáid sé na healíona chun an Críostaíocht a scaipeadh, agus chun samhlaíocht na ndaoine a spreagadh ag an am chéanna.

Tháining sé ar an tsaoil nuair a bhí an Críostaíocht ag chur fréamhacha beaga síos, míle, cuig chéad bhliain ó shin. Cé go raibh rún daingean aige daoine a mhealladh isteach sa chreideamh, thuig sé fosta, go mbeadh sé tabhachtach droichead a thógáil idir an págántacht agus an creideamh úr. Sa scannán seo, faigheann muid leargas ar conas a rinne sé cinnte go mbeadh adhradh don Ollmháthair coimeádaithe sa creideamh úr. Tá seans ann fosta go raibh tuiscint na ndraoithe aige, agus rinne sé gach iarracht, seoda chríonnachta na sinsear a caomhnú do na glúinta a bhí le theacht.

In this short film, 'Colmcille's Echo', we get a different view of the famous saint, looking at him as an artist and visionary. He used the arts to spread the word of Christianity and to inspire the people's imagination at the same time.

He was born when Christianity was just putting down roots 1500 years ago. He was determined to entice people to the new faith but was also aware that he needed to build a bridge to the old pagan beliefs. In this film we get an insight into how he made sure that worship for the Mother Goddess was kept in the new faith. There's also a chance that he had an understanding of druidic knowledge and that he did his best to keep these and other pearls of wisdom intact for the generations that came afterwards.
